At Currents Clinical Counselling, we provide a comprehensive range of counselling services tailored to meet the unique needs of individuals, children and youth, couples, and families. Our trauma-informed approaches ensure that we prioritize the well-being and safety of high-risk youth, while our collaborative team approach enables us to conduct thorough family assessments and make suitable recommendations.

First Responder Support

We offer specialized support for first responders, including RCMP and BCEHS, addressing the unique challenges they face in their rolåes. We direct bill to the RCMP and BCEHS.

Addressing Issues of Violence

Our services include therapy and assessments for both perpetrators and victims of violence, focusing on healing and restorative practices.

Support for Neurodiverse Individuals and Families

We are committed to providing support for neurodiverse individuals and their families, ensuring an inclusive environment that recognizes and respects diverse neurodevelopmental needs.

Section 211 Reports

We conduct Section 211 Reports such as Hear the Child and Views of the Child Assessments, facilitating a child-centered approach.

EMDR

We offer EMDR therapy with skilled professionals.

Clinical Supervision

We offer clinical supervision to support mental health professionals in their practice.

Behavioral Intervention Assessments

We also provide behavioral intervention assessments tailored to the specific needs of individuals.

Inclusive Support

We support LGBTQIA2S+ individuals and families, creating an inclusive and affirming environment. Our commitment extends to providing support for Indigenous peoples, with direct billing options available through FNHA. Our team includes Indigenous and Métis therapists, providing culturally safe support. Our professionals have specialized training and education in delivering these culturally safe services.

Reducing Barriers to Counselling

Our team includes Registered Clinical Counsellors, Canadian Certified Counsellors, and Registered Social Workers, providing coverage through most extended health benefits. We work with clients to explore potential funding options. We also offer sliding scale rates, and our Masters of Counselling interns provide counselling services at a significantly reduced fee.

Locations and Accessibility

Our services are available in Kamloops, Merritt, and Salmon Arm, BC, with virtual sessions offered to accommodate clients from various locations. We aim to provide accessible, compassionate, and effective counselling for all.

We understand that there is no universal solution; instead, our focus is on creating a judgment-free environment where individuals can explore their circumstances and discover meaningful pathways forward.
